Everyone, it seems, is jumping on the storytelling bandwagon, and with good reason. Storytelling is a powerful communications tool that taps into both our emotions and our minds’ most effective way of accepting and retaining information.
The trouble is that many of these companies and nonprofits aren’t telling their stories very well. That’s because they tell the story from their perspective and it’s all about them versus about the customer. At a Washington Networking Group event, Ogilvy Public Relations CEO Christopher Graves showed a video that highlights storytelling at its best.
